    Updated 11/15/24

To ensure the quality and appearance of the finished paving on Rehoboth Avenue, DelDOT has requested that paving occur during more favorable temperature periods, which will require daytime work beginning Monday, November 18. DelDOT has provided a revised schedule to finish the area from 2nd Street to the bandstand during the day. Areas west of 2nd Street will be milled at night and paved during the day.

At no time will parking on Rehoboth Avenue be closed completely on one side. For example, if storefront parking is closed in an area, median parking will be available. Work will pause the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving until after the Hometown Christmas Parade on Monday, December 2.

Update 11/18/2024 The water main portion of this project is complete, and all services have been switched over to the new water main. Milling and paving operations on Maryland Avenue and 1st Street will begin November 25 and are expected to be completed December 3. No on-street parking will be permitted 11/25-27 and 12/2-3; ingress and egress to driveways will be permitted. Expect delays during paving operations. No work will take place 11/28-12/1; on-street parking is permitted on these days.

In fall 2024, the City of Rehoboth Beach will replace the water main in the ocean block of Maryland Avenue. Work is expected to begin about October 7. This block of Maryland Avenue will be closed to through traffic while work is ongoing, but will be accessible to residents who live on that street. Signage and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic flow. Parking will be restricted while work is underway (from 8 am-5 pm weekdays) but allowed in the evenings.

Door hanger notices will be posted 48 hours in advance of any scheduled water outages.

After water main work is complete on Maryland, the city will resurface the street of that block as well as 1st Street from Baltimore Avenue to past Virginia Avenue. Work is expected to be completed around December 2.

The city will coordinate with homeowners on these streets to undertake any needed curb and sidewalk repairs, taking advantage of the city's contracted price, which is expected to be a considerable savings for homeowners.
